Oh Baby!

Everyone is having babies in our family! So here is another baby card for a baby shower! I used one of the sketches for the Verve Release Challenge: VSJUN05. This pickles and ice cream pattern paper is an old pattern paper that I stocked up on, because I thought it would be fun for mommies-to-be! It was made by treehouse designs, I tried doing a google search to find it but didn't have much luck. The focal image and sentiment are from the Amuse set: Baby Wishes. I colored the image with copic markers, and embossed it with nestabilities. The brown cardstock is by GKD and I embossed it with the CB baby embossing folder. The scalloped edge was made with Martha Stewart's mini heart scallop border punch. The ribbon is by American Crafts. For the sentiment I stamped it rich cocoa and punched it out with a 1 inch circle punch. Then I used the ek success 1 1/4 inch scallop circle punch to mat it. The bottom of the card is embossed using the CB swiss dots embossing folder.

Embossed White Birthday Card

I made this card for Stamp TV's technique challenge this week. Gina's video tutorial included how to emboss using the nestabilities in your cuttlebug. I chose to use the oval nestabilities and embossed around the flower image from GKD: baskets of happiness. I colored in the image with copic markers and added stickles to the center of each flower. The embossing done at the bottom of the card was completed with the score pal. For the sentiment I stamped the birthday wishes from Amuse and punched it out with the su oval punch, and matted it with a yellow scalloped pierced oval. To complete the card I applied the ribbon using the stay put bow technique.

For the base of this card I used GKD pure luxury heavy weight cardstock. This is a 120 lb. cardstock that holds up well after all of the embossing, and it does not allow the color from the copic markers to bleed through to the back. As a result I am able to have a single layer card! :) If you haven't tried this cardstock you should really give it a try! You can even order a sample pack to see if you like it!!

Hey There!

I made this card for a couple of challenges. The first being the color challenge at Stamp TV. The second being the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This is a pretty basic card so I will keep the details simple. The pattern paper is by sassafrass lass called "Starry Night" I thought it matched Jennie's purse for the color challenge. I cuttlebugged the top and sponged on some rich cocoa ink. The tan panel is stamped in new canvas palette ink using a polka dot background stamp. I paper pieced the coffee cup by GKD. For the sentiment I popped up the blue oval and glued the ribbon (American Crafts) to the scalloped oval. The button I tied on some dmc floss and attached it with a glue dot. The card size on this is 7 1/4 x 3 5/8 to fit in the rectangle envelopes that I have. And the cardstock is also by GKD chocolate kiss and pure luxury white layering weight.

Happy Father's Day!

I'm back from my adventure up north, and I have a card I made for my Dad. This layout is an old Mojo sketch that I loved but didn't have time to made when it was originally posted. I started with a kraft base, and added a brown mat to the patterned paper. The pp is really old I believe it is by deja views. For the panels I stamped the canvas su background in rich cocoa. The border is an ek success border punch from Michaels. The focal image is a stamp by Victorine Originals that I had gotten on ebay, and I pierced the bottom of the square. I added a little color using a prismacolored pencil. The sentiment is a dollar acrylic set. I cut it out with 1 3/8 inch circle punch and matted it with the 1 1/2 inch circle punch.

Stamp TV Sketch

I made this card for the Stamp TV sketch challenge! My cousin had a baby boy last week, so I will be sending this to her! I used my sizzix large scallop circle die to cut out the card. Then I pierced the scalloped edge. Next I cut out two circles white and light blue, and embossed the light blue with the CB EF swiss dots. For the focal image (by stampabilities) I stamped it in memento tuxedo black and colored a few accents in with copic markers, and outlined it in prismacolor: cold stone. The buttons are cut out using the sizzix button sizzlit, and I added dmc floss to the center. The sentiment is by studio G, I stamped it on a strip of light blue paper, and made it into a banner. I used my 1/4 inch square punch to make the triangle edges on it.

Clean and Simple

Don't you just love clean and simple cards?! I stumbled upon the clean and simple cards blog, and noticed that they have a card layout weekly. If you are into the clean and simple, check it out the layouts are awesome! SCS also has a CAS challenge weekly, this card used the colors kraft and pinks/corals for that challenge.

Details are pretty basic on this one. I punched out three hearts from the SU 6x6 paper pad using the Martha Stewart heart punch. Then I determined what size the outline would be, and cut out a piece of cardstock that size. Next I stamped my sentiment on the stamp a ma jig and layed it over my template and marked on the template where the sentiment would be. Then I used repositionable double sided tape to adhere the template to the card where I wanted it, and I used my fine point sharpie poster paint white marker to outline the template. Then I stamped the sentiment by Whipper Snapper and adhered the hearts with pop dots, and ta dah! Done, clean and simple! :)
