The theme for this week's challenge was heroes in honor of Memorial Day, and Sharon's challenge was to use the colors of your country's flag. My grandparents were all veterans of WW2, so I am honoring them today, along with all of the individuals fighting for our country today, with this card by saying "thanks a bunch."

Reverse Nestabilities

This week on Stamp TV Gina had a video called reverse nestabilities, where you pop up the card front of your card after die cutting your shapes with nestabilities. I had to give it a try! I used the iris stamp from Gina K,and colored it with copic markers. Next I cut out a square that would frame the iris image and embossed it with the swiss dots cb embossing folder. On the lightest purple I cut out and embossed the label and fancy label for the focal image and my sentiment. I stamped my sentiment and popped up the entire card front with pop dots. I really like the look of this card, you'll have to give it a try! Check out the video reverse nestabilities. Thanks for looking!

Clean and Simple Challenge 3

Well this picture is the best I could get. It is hard to take pictures of white base cards! This is my card using pop dots. I cut out and embossed the scallop circle, and put the mango color behind it. Then I cut out and embossed my focal image and popped it up in the center. The focal image is from Amuse and I added sparkles to the bridal gown. The patterned paper and ribbon are both by Martha, and the stamp is by Serendipity that I bought at a rummage. Thanks for looking!

Spring Card for Clean and Simple Challenge Round 3

Great news, guess who made it to the semi-finals for the Clean and Simple Design Team....me! Yeah! For this round we are to make a card that uses pop dots and a movable card. I'm having picture issues today, but this one finally turned out. This is the movable card for the challenge, it springs out at you when you open it up! The base of the card is crate patterned paper. I matted the focal image with lime green to make it pop a little bit. The stamp is by Penny Black, and I added some color using copic markers. The sentiment is from Papertrey's mega mixed messages, and lastly I added a dragonfly brad. This was a fun card to make! Thanks for looking, and hopefully I can get a good picture of my card that uses pop dots!

Summer Time!

Here is my second card for the Clean and Simple Design Team Challenge. The theme for the challenge was summer. The weather here has certainly felt like summer, yesterday my thermometer reached 100 degrees! That is just a little to hot for my comfort level! So when the temps get back to the 80's I would love to be enjoying the sunshine in a comfortable lounge chair, and that is the theme to my card. The stamps are by Stampendous, and I relied on my stamp-a-ma-jig for the alignment of this card!!! I think I use that tool more than any other! Love it! I colored the lounge chairs with copic markers in summery colors, and outlined the images using a long rectangle nestability using a fine point pen. Then I remembered I had this sun die cut by Sizzix, and thought that would be a fun accent to this card. And all of these details were added to the wonderful Gina K designs pure luxury 120 lb white cardstock, love this paper!! That's all for now... enjoy the sunshine!! :)

Clean and Simple Challenge

Over at SCS there is a challenge posted to be a part of the Clean and Simple Design Team. With summer here (Yeah!) I am done with school, so this would be a great time to participate in a Design Team if I were to be considered. So I am going for it! The requirements include: focal image must be a person, character, or group. I chose this little girl from Hero Arts. She is too cute, and I had fun coloring her in with copic markers. The next requirement was to add a bit of flashy ribbon, and for bonus points add some texture. I love the bold colors of this ribbon, it was the inspiration for this card! And I added some texture using an embossing folder by Quickutz.

That's all for now! Thanks for stopping by!
