Snowy Color Challenge

Supplies: Stamps: Whipper Snapper  Ink: Gina K Amalgam black  Paper: Gina K heavy base weight white, real red  Accessories: ribbon, copic markers, sequins

The color challenge on SCS was to use lemon lime twist, garden green, and real red.  In addition to the colors there was another challenge to make it a Christmas card.  So I chose this snowman image to be included in the Christmas theme, and I colored the snowman's scarf with the colors of the challenge with copic markers.  I found a snowflake ribbon and added it to the top of the card, and lastly I added some sequins for snowflakes.

Back to School

Supplies:  Stamps: Studio G  Ink:  Gina K black Amalgam  Paper:  Riding Hood Red, DCWV patterned paper, early espresso  Accessories: ribbon, Cuttle Kids apple die cut

This week the CAS challenge on SCS is Back to School.  I found this apple paper and wanted to use this.  I have so much patterned paper and never use it!  So I challenged myself to try it out today.  I ended up using it in place of my usual white space.  I felt like if I added layers to it you wouldn't see the pattern of the paper.  I stamped the back to school image onto my apple die cut, added some ribbon, and popped up my apple with dimensionals to complete this card.

Buzzing Special Day

Supplies: Stamps: Dragonfly Dreams  Ink: Gina K Amalgam black ink, SU white craft ink Paper: Gina K black onyx and kraft  Accessories: Spellbinders tag, copic marker, black twine, clear Wink of Stella marker

This week's featured stamper on SCS is Jenny.  I chose this card as inspiration for my card.  I change the color scheme and used the same layout.  For the bumble bees I did a white wash where the yellow strips are supposed to be, then I went over the white wash with a copic marker so the yellow would stand out on the kraft paper.  I added Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to the wings to add some sparkle.  For the tag I created a background layer with black to help the sentiment stand out from the card base.

Just Bee Happy

Supplies: Stamps: Whipper Snapper  Paper: Gina K heavy base weight white, melon mambo, Recollections gingham paper  Ink:  Gina K Amalgam Ink  Accessories:  Spellbinders nestabilities, Offray white grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals

This week the Ways to Use It challenge on SCS was to use dimensionals on your focal image and your sentiment, and the Free for All challenge was to use winged things.  I still had this buzzy bee on my desk from earlier in the week and thought I would use it again, this time with it's fun sentiment!  I colored my focal image with copic markers and then popped it up with dimensionals.  Then added my sentiment popping this up even further than the focal image.  Lastly, I added some ribbon to tie it all together.

Snowy Cardinals

Supplies:  Paper: Gina K heavy base weight white, DCWV paper pack, red scrap  Accessories:  Simon Says Stamp die cut, Impression Obsession die cut, dimensionals.

This week over at the Paper Players the challenge is to use negative space on your card, and to have a clean and simple design.  To keep the design clean and simple I used this birch tree die cut.  I thought using the snowy paper as my negative space made the birch trees stand out.  And then I found some cardinal die cuts and the contrast of the red against the background made the cardinals pop.  Lastly, I added dimensionals to the back of this focal piece and added it to my card base to complete this card.

Featured Stamper

Supplies: Stamps: Whipper Snapper  Paper: Black Onyx Gina K, Gina K layering white, Papercut yellow gingham  Ink: Versamark  Accessories: Spellbinders Nestabilities scallop and plain oval, EK Success border punch, Offray black grosgrain ribbon, copic markers

Sunday brings us the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS.  This week the featured stamper is Jill.  The following card is the inspiration to the card I made today.  Jill colored the backside of her focal image after she stamped the front of the focal image.  This technique is what caught my eye in her gallery, and I used this technique to CASE her card.  I kept the layout the same and used a few different elements to finish off my card.
