Treat Yourself

Supplies: Stamps: Lawn Fawn Happy Summer, Treat Yourself, A Birdie Told Me  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Paper: DCWV pink, Gina K white, Accessories: Copic markers, Lawn Fawn A Birdie Told Me die cuts, stitched rectangle dies, twine, dimensionals

I was checking out the Paper Players challenge for the week and Lawn Fawn's Treat Yourself set came to mind.   Then I thought it would be cute if the ants from Happy Summer were crawling into the ice cream and it was their treat, as the ant on top of the ice cream yells, "Treat yourself!"  :)  I added some twine at the top to complete the card.  Thanks for looking!

Watercolored Father's Day

Supplies: Stamps:  Moon Lake, Woodgrain, Delightful Dozen  Ink: crumb cake and soft suede and black staz on  Paper: crumb cake and Tim Holtz watercolor paper  Accessories: Kuretake watercolors, twine ribbon, silver ribbon slide, corner rounder, and dimensionals

This Father's Day card is for my father-in-law.  He enjoys fishing and hunting so this seemed like a suitable image.  With the image being on the water, I chose to use watercolors as my coloring medium.  I rounded the corners on one side after the image was dry, added the ribbon and ribbon slide, and popped it up with dimensionals.  I added it to the card base where I stamped the woodgrain background with crumb cake.  Thanks for stopping by!

You're a Classic

Supplies: Stamps: Classic Cars, car is from a rummage but is not marked with a company  Paper: Paper cut: black, cherry red, and Gina K layering white  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Accessories: glossy accents, corner rounder, small brads, ribbon, copic markers, spellbinders, Cuttlebug embossing folder

I made this card for my Dad for Father's Day.  He has always liked corvettes, and this one is a classic.  I colored it with copic markers and added glossy accents to really make it shine.  Here is a close up:

I didn't have a rounded tag die cut, so I used my circle spellbinders.  I measured the widest part of the circle and cut a strip of paper with that width.  Then I partially die cut the circle to create the rounded tag look.  I used the ribbon to add a border to the embossed bottom of the car.  I thought this embossing folder looked like tire tracks.  For the sentiment I turned a rectangle into a license plate, by rounding the corners and adding brads to each corner.  Thanks for stopping by!

First Stenciled Card

Supplies: Stamps: Amuse  Paper: Neenah solar white  Ink: Distress ink: tattered rose, Victorian velvet, milled lavender,  Memento rich cocoa,   Accessories: translucent embossing paste, Clearly Besotted happy die cut, Stampin Up edgelit finishing touches, Tim Holtz lace stencil, twine, spatula, multi matte medium, dimensionals
You Tube has soooo many great tutorials, and I have been watching quite a few.  I recently watched this one, by Kristina Werner, and decided to give this technique a try.  First I mixed my distress ink with the translucent embossing paste one color at a time, applying it to the stencil overlapping the paste a bit in between each color in order to blend them.  Then I had to wait for it to dry....  I decided to make the stenciled portion an angle, and cut a couple slivers of white cardstock and one strip that I die cut with the fancy edge.  Instead of trying to find cardstock to match I used the distress ink pads to color the paper so it matched my project.  For the sentiment I die cut the word happy, inked it with the distress ink pad, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder twice so it was a nice thick gloss look.  Then I stamped the birthday portion of my Amuse stamp and adhered my die cut to coordinate with the stamped word.  I added a twine bow, popped up the panel with dimensionals, and that finished the card.  Thanks for stopping by!

I Love this Technique!

Supplies: Stamps: SU Flower Shop  Ink: SU pink pirouette  Paper: white, pink pirouette, pear pizzazz  Accessories: SU pansy punch, SU bird punch, self adhesive pearls, twine

Hello!  I have been seeing some cards pop up using this technique, using white die cuts to make the background and then adding stamping to one of the images to make it pop.  Instead of using a die cut, I used Stampin' Up's Flower Shop and Pansy Punch set.  First I punched out a bunch of white pansies, and then I decided where I wanted the focal image.  Then I placed the other flowers on the white panel to create a background.  I glued them down, and then I cut out two leaves using the bird punch, and added some scoring for the veins of the leaves.  I stacked up about 5 white pansy flowers and glued them together and then stamped the pink flower, punched it out, and adhered it to the top of the stack.  I glued the leaves to the bottom of the stack, added some pearls to the center of the flower, and adhered it to the card.  I felt like the card needed something else at this point, and decided to add some twine at the top. I really like this technique, and with so many stamp companies having coordinating dies there are so many possibilities.

Thank you for stopping by!
