Featured Stamper

This week the featured stamper on SCS is "snowman queen."  I selected this card to case.  I changed the orientation of the card, color scheme, and theme.  I kept the layout the same and added butterflies to my focal sentiment.   I see myself using this layout again using different sentiments from the Well Scripted stamp set.  Clean, simple, and quick!

Snail Birthday Wishes

Supplies: Stamps: Avery Elle(snail) unknown(birthday wishes) Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Versamark  Paper: Stampin Up 6x6 paper pad Cherry On Top with coordinating cardstock, white cardstock  Accessories: Lawn Fawn journaling card and scallop border die cuts, detail white embossing powder, copic markers, dimensionals, ribbon, Wink of Stella marker, Glossy Accents

My niece's birthday is coming up and I made this card for her.  I started by coloring in the snail with copic markers.  I stamped the balloon twice, cut one out, and popped one up to add some dimension.  I added some sparkle and shine to the balloon using the Wink of Stella marker and Glossy Accents.  Next I added the ribbon and sentiment.  For the card base I used the diagonal lines of the dp and cut along them to create my diagonal piece.  I added the scallop border to polish up the card base.

Sparkle and Shine

Supplies: Stamps: Dragonfly Dreams  Ink: Archival black ink  Paper: white and black cardstock  Accessories: Stampin Up embossing folders for the frame and the border, wink of stella clear glitter marker, zig yellow clean color brush marker

The clean and simple challenge on SCS is sparkle and shine.  I chose to add my sparkle and shine using a wink of stella clear glitter marker to blend my zig yellow clean color brush marker.  Then I decided to go over the whole bumble bee with the glitter marker to really make the bee sparkle and shine.  I also made this card for the SUO challenge which was to use embossing on your card.

A Visit to Gina K

Supplies: Stamps: Gina K Hello Lovely  Paper: Gina K white and black cardstock  Ink: Gina K black, spun sugar and shaded lilac distress ink  Accesories: Tim Holtz rays stencil, gems, Gina K flutter by die, clarity stencil brushes
Yesterday we went to visit my Mom for her birthday and made a stop at Gina K's retail store.  She had samples using this Hello Lovely set right as you walked in and I was hooked.  Inspiration for this card came from her examples, The Paper Players Challenge, and the featured stamper on SCS.  I cased this card as  I participated in this challenge.  I kept the layout the same.  I used a different stencil, solid flower stamps, and added a die cut in place of a sentiment.  I have to rave about these clarity brushes again, they really make blending so easy!

I made this card using the sketch challenge on SCS.  I tucked the hedgehogs into the long grass layers for my focal point.  Then I added a bunch of hearts that I shined up with some glossy accents following the suit of the sketch.  I opted not to frame my sentiment to keep it clean and simple.

Yet Another Timeless Tag

Supplies: Paper: Gina K black and white cardstock, yellow is Bazzill  Accessories: Timeless Tags Thinlits, scallop oval nestabilities, swiss dots embossing folder, dimensionals

The Paper Players challenge this week is a color challenge: Black, white, plus any color you choose.  I kept with my clean and simple style, and used the Timeless Tags again for my focal image.  I discovered that the scalloped oval nestabilities frame the Timeless Tags pretty closely and added this to my tag.  I added some texture with the swiss dots embossing folder and a little more black as a background to my white panel.

Have an Ice Day!

Supplies: Stamps: Inky Antics  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Paper: Gina K heavy base white  Accessories: gingham ribbon, copic markers, Sizzix tag thinlits, liquid applique, glossy accents
The CAS challenge on SCS is "Freeze."  This penguin image came to my mind right away.  I had picked this up with the matching sentiment at a craft rummage, and of course have never used it! ;)  Our hobby is so much about the shopping isn't it?!
I added the embossed tag to make it look like the entrance to an igloo.  It is hard to see in the picture but I added glossy accents to the ice and the drink the penguin is holding.  Lastly, I added some liquid applique to make his pom pom extra fluffy!

This week's featured stamper on SCS is Twila.  I chose this card to case.   I kept the same layout and color scheme.  I used a die cut in place of a stamped image, and I used a white gel pen to match the white embossing on Twila's card.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Another Try

Supplies: Stamps: Stylized Birthday  Paper: Affectionately Yours, navy and white cardstock  Ink: Memento paris dusk  Accessories: ribbon, circle nestabilities

I wanted to give the SCS sketch another try since my last card was so hard to photograph.  I used another dp from the affectionately yours paper pack and paired it with the same stylized birthday greeting.  That's all for now, thanks for stopping by!

Coppery Birthday

Supplies: Stamps: Stylized Birthday  Paper: Affectionately Yours, white cardstock  Ink: Versamark  Accessories: copper embossing powder, circle nestabilities, white sheer ribbon

I have to apologize for the picture of this card.  It is really hard to photograph a card when it has foiled paper on it!   The colors all look really off, but I assure you they are all coppery.  I didn't have any copper foil paper for behind the birthday greeting, so I made my own using the copper embossing powder I used on the greeting.
I made this card using the sketch challenge on SCS.

Coffee Anyone?

Supplies: Stamps: Amuse and Lawn Fawn  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Paper: Gina K Heavy base weight white cardstock  Accessories: copic markers, ribbon, score pal, clear wink of stella marker, glossy accents
The CAS challenge on SCS today is "hot beverage."  I can't imagine starting my day without a cup of coffee, and I love this coffee to go mug stamp.  I added a heart from the Stinkin' Cute stamp set by Lawn Fawn to these coffee cups, applied clear wink of stella to the hearts, and then glossy accents on top.  I scored two lines above and below the ribbon to add some dimension.

Supplies: Stamps: Amuse coffee mug, sentiment ? I bought it at a craft rummage  Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Versamark, Tim Holtz distress inks  Paper: Old Olive and Tim Holtz watercolor paper  Accessories: dimensionals and detail white embossing powder.

I couldn't resist, I had to make another card for this challenge.  I watercolored the brown coffee background and then spritzed on some water to create the water splotches.  Then I stamped the coffee cup twice, cut them out and adhered one to the sentiment and popped the other one up next to it.  My sentiment was embossed on old olive cardstock to coordinate with the card base.

Birdie Birthday

Supplies: Stamps Mini Crazy Bird Set  Ink: Archival jet black, Versamark, Distress Inks: barn door, peacock feathers, and pumice stone  Paper: Tim Holtz watercolor paper, black cardstock by Gina K Accessories: detail white embossing powder, glossy accents, mini crazy bird die set, Tim Holtz birthday die cut, Tim Holtz dot fade stencil, white embossing paste, DCWV twine, paper piercer

Today's challenge on SCS is the Featured Stamper challenge, and the Featured Stamper is Pam.  I chose to CASE this card, and made the following changes: I used one layer for the card base, distress ink and embossing paste to create the "patterned" paper, and I used one layer for my die cut word.  This isn't my typical CAS card, it took me forever!  But it was fun to use so many different products on one card.  I added glossy accents to the balloon and the birthday word die cut.  To make it look like the bird was holding the balloon string I pierced a hole above and below his wing to thread the baker's twine through. And I love the texture that the embossing paste adds to the watercolored background.

Another Timeless Tag

Supplies: Stamps: That's The Tag  Ink: Riding Hood Red, Memento tuxedo black  Paper: Affectionately Yours, white, gumball green, and watermelon wonder  Accessories: Timeless Tags, metallic ribbon combo, linen thread, dimensionals, copic markers

The challenge over at SU! Only Challenges is to use your new "stuff!"  I used this Timeless Tag and That's the Tag combo on a card previously this week, and thought I'd try making a different variety of tag.  I like the look of the leaves behind the flowers on this tag.  I also recently purchased the Affectionately Yours paper pack, and thought it would compliment this tag with the flower pattern. I finished my tag with the new ribbon from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  I couldn't decide if I should use the gold or the silver both looked good, but I thought the contrast of the silver and the linen thread worked out better.  Thanks for stopping by!

Flying By To Say Hi

Supplies: Stamps: Lawn Fawn  Paper: white, black, and grey cardstock  Ink: Memento tuxedo black and Versamark  Accessories: Tim Holtz embossing folder, linen thread, copic markers, detail white embossing powder, dimensionals

I made this card using this week's sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  I chose to use airplanes as my group of three.  I added a touch of grey coloring to add some dimension to the airplanes.  I chose the embossing folder to display the trails of the paper airplanes.   Lastly,  I added my sentiment with white embossing powder to help it pop on the black cardstock.

Out With The Old In With The New

Supplies: Stamps: That's the Tag Paper: white cardstock  Ink: Tattered Rose Distress Ink and Memento tuxedo black  Accessories: Linen Thread, Timeless Tags, Hero Arts Tile Work stencil, blending tool, Clarity Stencil brushes, and dimensionals
The CAS challenge this week is to use something new.  I purchased the Timeless Tags and That's the Tag stamp and die set from the new Occasions Catalog.  I created the ombre effect with my blending tool on the tag.  I then used the same ink for the stencil, using the Clarity brushes.  What a dream they are for blending!  To make the slivers of pink, I swiped my tattered rose ink pad on some white cardstock in order to make everything coordinate.  I added some linen thread and popped up my tag, and that completed my card.
