Happy Valentine's Day!

I haven’t entered a Mojo Monday Contest in awhile, so I thought I would take another try at one. I am trying to make cards that I actually need when I enter challenges. That way, I am not making a card at the last minute (as usual.) So hopefully, I remember this all year?! This card is going to be for my nieces.

I colored the focal image with copic markers (fun!) and cut it out and embossed it with nestabilities. I also added glitter to the heart and used the clear glaze pen on her ponytails. I matted it with a petite scallop circle and popped it up off of the red embossed circle. Then I pierced around the embossed edge of the red circle. The image is soo cute it is from Stampendous and was made exclusively for Archivers. There is also a little boy image that I will be using for my nephew’s valentine. All of the papers are from Hobby Lobby (they were 5 for $1 this week!) Except the white, this is the layering weight and base weight luxury cardstock from Gina K. Designs. The embossing folder is by cuttlebug, and the white strip I embossed using my score-pal to match the patterned paper. The ribbon is from Michaels dollar bin, they sometimes have some really nice ribbon in there! The border punch is by Martha, she makes the best punches! Lastly, I used graduated crystals for the five embellishments on the sketch.

That’s all for now, I have to go and make my nephew’s card now!

Happy Birthday Ellie!

My niece's birthday is right around the corner, and this is the card I made for her. I used the Mojo Monday sketch for the layout of the card. The stamp is by Whipper Snapper, and I colored the image with copic markers. The papers are from a DCWV paper pad. And the sentiment is from Papertrey.

Valentine Box

This was such a fun and easy box to make for the CAS challlenge on SCS! The theme for this week's CAS challenge was Valentine's Day, so this box worked great for the theme. Beate Johns had a video tutorial on her blog Fresh and Fun. I used Bazzill cardstock for the base, added some Heidi Grace patterned paper, and for the heart closure I used a Martha heart punch (which was my mom's idea! thanks mom!) I attached a pink heart in the back of the scalloped one to provide some contrast, and rounded the edges of the flap. This box will hold Gharadelli Chocolates, or other small candies.

Thanks for Looking!!

Featured Stamper

It was the last day of Christmas Vacation today, and I realized I didn't spend as much time stamping as I would have liked. So I spent the whole day in my craft room! What a treat! I made a few projects that I will be posting this week. I started with the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. This week the Featured Stamper was Ann. I found this card in her gallery and chose to case it. I recently purchased this set of nestabilities and was anxious to use it. My sister also picked up the new Martha heart punch for me, and my card started falling into place. I embossed the background the SU texture plate, and the sentiment is by hero arts.

Cool Beans!

I can tell I have not been stamping...it took me two days to finish this card! I am trying to get used to my new space, and I made a huge mess trying to find things as I made this card. I think it is going to take as much time to clean up my mess as it did to make the card! Well maybe that way I can get more familiar with where everything is!

This is the sketch challenge at GKD Stamp TV. I flipped the sketch and added a ribbon instead of a paper panel. I used the GKD stamp set My Cuppa' Joe. I just love this set! The papers are from a Basic Grey 6x6 paper pad, and the embossing folder is by Sizzix. I added a little shadowing with my copic markers to the coffee cup.

Well off to clean up my space and maybe make another project using some of the goodies I bought in Madison today! :)

Happy Stamping!

Christmas Tags

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We just finished celebrating today, it has been a full four days of celebrations! I thought I would share some tags that I made for our Christmas gifts this year. Hopefully I will get some stamping time in this next week, since I have some time off! :)

Give Me a Snow Day and I'll Give You a Card!

Life has been a whirlwind since my last post, kind of like this blustery snow storm we had today! Being a first time homeowner has left me with little time for my crafty hobby. I have missed it very much, and after hearing that there was no school today I knew I was going to try to squeeze in some much needed stamping time! I checked out the SCS sketch challenge last night and the wheels started turning. I was helping clear away the snow and I remembered that I had purchased the GKD "Let it Snow" set with that super cute snowman. How appropriate for a day like today! I colored the snowman with copic markers, added stickles for the snow at the bottom and falling flakes. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the let it snow three times at the bottom panel. The ribbon is from Michaels, and I cuttlebugged the base of the card with the snowflake embossing folder. Well that is all for now...I did get together with my mom last weekend and made some tags so I will be posting those hopefully this weekend!

Stay warm!!
