Gina K Sketch Challenge

The sketch challenge at Stamp TV this week was a fun one. I love the circles on this, it would be fun to use some of those small stamps that we all have. I will have to use this sketch again and try some of my small stamps. I wanted to use a set from GKD, this set is called Framed Flowers. I started by using one of each of the flowers, but then decided that one style of flower would be best. In the fourth circle I stamped the sentiment with one of the small flowers from the Framed Flowers set. I added some glitter to the center of the flowers. The patterned paper is from Martha Stewart, and I embossed the bottom using a cuttlebug embossing border. I added some self adhesive gems to sparkle it up a bit. I tied on some ribbon using the stay put bow technique. I just love what a finished look this technique provides!

Fall to Layout

This is the first fall-to-layout sketch of the new year! I decided to make a one layer card for the sketch by embossing with my nestabilities. I stamped the flower from Live Your Dream inside the rectangle and added a white sheer bow. I stamped the flowers again and cut them out and adhered them with pop dots and added some self adhesive pink pearls to center of the flowers. The sentiment is from Papertrey's mega mixed messages. This card also works for the CAS challenge on SCS: cut it out! Thanks for looking!

I changed the following details on the card: stamp set, sentiment on the base of the card, border punch at the top of the card.

Winter Wishes

I really like the simplicity of clean and simple cards. This is a card I made for fun using a set of Basic Grey acrylic stamps and Verve for the sentiment. The layout is based on a fall-to-layout sketch.

Scalloped Envelope Box

I had seen this box surfing the internet this weekend, and I had to try it out. I never did find any directions for the smaller box, but there are a lot of directions for a larger square box you can make. So I experimented and found out it is pretty easy! I simply die cut two of the scallop envelopes and trimmed the bottom flap of the envelope to 1/2" to match the side flaps. Then I adhered it together with score tape and punched out an oval using the smaller su oval punch. I embellished simply, since the recepient may just toss it... because the chocolates are so delicious. I used a cuttlebug diecut double heart, and added some ribbon. The paper is from Hobby Lobby, I'm pretty sure it is Paper Studio paper.

GKD Sketch Challenge

Sometimes ideas for a card come at the strangest times. For example I was getting ready for bed and it came to me to use this embossing folder for the GKD sketch challenge. Unfortunately I was too tired to go and make it, but thank goodness I actually remembered my idea the next day when I had time to make it! I knew I wanted the focal image to be cut out for the oval, and I had wanted to use the script cb embossing folder for the background. When I ran it through the cuttlebug I didn't like it, so I looked down and saw the remaining piece of the embossed bird image and the light bulb turned on! I embossed the background with the same folder as the focal image! I really like how it turned out. TFL!!

Featured Stamper

Sunday brings the Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. This week the Featured Stamper was Wendy. What fabulous gallery, I had selected five different cards I wanted to case...if only there were more hours in the day ;) This is the card that I decided on, and keeping with my "making cards I'm going to use" attitude I decided to make a Valentine for my nephew, and I even completed the inside as well (something I usually just leave empty.)

I made a few more treasures today, so I will be able to keep on posting! Yeah!
