Happy Father's Day

Supplies:
Stamps: SU Moon Lake, Stampabilities: Happy Father's Day
Paper:  Gina K White, SU Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Timeless Plaid 6x6 DSP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and SU Crumb Cake
Accessories: Ribbon from stash, Waffle Flower Nesting Circles Dies, SU Spotlight On Nature Dies, Banners Framelits Dies, Copic Markers

Hello Stampers!  I made a card today using the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

For my card I started by picking out my DSP for the banner.  Then I picked out the focal image.  I stamped, die cut, and colored it in with Copics.  I wanted to add some color behind the design of the circle die cut, so I die cut a plain circle out of Mossy Meadows and adhered it behind the focal image. Then I picked out some ribbon and adhered it to the Crumb Cake layer.  Then I worked on the banner.  I decided to pop this up since the ribbon added some dimension.  Before I adhered to the Crumb Cake layer I cut the banner in half.  I adhered the top portion to the top of the Crumb Cake layer, and then I popped up the bottom portion towards the bottom.  This stretched out my banner enough for the card sketch.  So I adhered the focal image with pop dots as well.  The inside I kept really simple.  I stamped my sentiment and die cut it with the same circle as the front.

That's all for now!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello Stampers!  School's out for summer!! :) Here is a card I made for my dad for Father's Day.  To make the card I cut a white panel and die cut a circle out of it.  I stamped the background and adhered it to the card base behind the circle.  Next I added the twine and popped this panel onto the card base.  To finish the card I stamped and cut out the plane, and stamped and die cut the sentiment.  I adhered both of these to the card.

That's all for now!   Thanks so much for stopping by!

Lovely As A Tree

Supplies:  Stamps: SU Lovely As A Tree and Teeny Tiny Wishes  Ink: SU crumb cake and GKD black amalgam ink  Paper: GKD heavy base weight white and SU crumb cake  Accessories: Poppy: Pinpoint rings, SU crumb cake ribbon, stamp a ma jig

Happy Easter everyone!  I am participating in the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS today.  The featured stamper is: Catherine.  I selected this card as inspiration for my card.  The Lovely As a Tree image caught my attention because it is on the retired list for Stampin' Up.  I also liked how she used the circles on her card.  For my card I used the Pinpoint Rings die for the circles on my card.  Then I used my trusty stamp a ma jig to stamp the tree image inside the rings.  Next I stamped the sentiment and added the ribbon treatment.  I adhered all of my layers together and I was done.  Quick and easy! :)

Happy Father's Day

Supplies: Stamps: SU Plane and Simple  Ink: GKD chocolate truffle amalgam ink  Paper: GKD heavy base weight white, Papercut brown, and Carta Bella propeller plane patterned paper

Happy Sunday!  It is time for the featured stamper challenge.  This week the featured stamper is proudarmymomof2.  I selected the following card as inspiration for my card.  This card caught my eye because I just picked up this patterned paper yesterday, and I have the plane and simple stamp set that she used.  To make the card I cut out my patterned paper for the background.  Then I stamped and cut out the airplane.  I cut out the two strips of paper and stamped the sentiment.  Next I adhered the two strips of paper onto the background, and popped up the airplane with dimensionals to complete the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Wetlands Sketch Challenge

Supplies: Stamps: Wetlands  Paper: white, pear pizzazz, kraft, and grey  Ink: soft suede and Memento tuxedo black  Accessories: copic markers, Lawn Fawn stitched circle dies

I used the sketch challenge on SCS to make this Father's Day card. When I saw the sketch I thought of the Wetlands stamp set right away.  It is one of my favorites for making masculine cards.  I colored in the focal image with copic markers, and stamped the background in soft suede.

Watercolored Father's Day

Supplies: Stamps:  Moon Lake, Woodgrain, Delightful Dozen  Ink: crumb cake and soft suede and black staz on  Paper: crumb cake and Tim Holtz watercolor paper  Accessories: Kuretake watercolors, twine ribbon, silver ribbon slide, corner rounder, and dimensionals

This Father's Day card is for my father-in-law.  He enjoys fishing and hunting so this seemed like a suitable image.  With the image being on the water, I chose to use watercolors as my coloring medium.  I rounded the corners on one side after the image was dry, added the ribbon and ribbon slide, and popped it up with dimensionals.  I added it to the card base where I stamped the woodgrain background with crumb cake.  Thanks for stopping by!

You're a Classic

Supplies: Stamps: Classic Cars, car is from a rummage but is not marked with a company  Paper: Paper cut: black, cherry red, and Gina K layering white  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Accessories: glossy accents, corner rounder, small brads, ribbon, copic markers, spellbinders, Cuttlebug embossing folder

I made this card for my Dad for Father's Day.  He has always liked corvettes, and this one is a classic.  I colored it with copic markers and added glossy accents to really make it shine.  Here is a close up:

I didn't have a rounded tag die cut, so I used my circle spellbinders.  I measured the widest part of the circle and cut a strip of paper with that width.  Then I partially die cut the circle to create the rounded tag look.  I used the ribbon to add a border to the embossed bottom of the car.  I thought this embossing folder looked like tire tracks.  For the sentiment I turned a rectangle into a license plate, by rounding the corners and adding brads to each corner.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day

Supplies: Stamps: Thinking of Father, Sanded Background   Paper: early espresso, ivory  Ink: crumb cake, soft suede, early espresso  Accessories: SU button, GKD ribbon, Crystal Effects, twine, distressing tool, sponge
My Mom was going to sell this set at a rummage sale and I snatched it up.  Love the vintage look to this set.  I started out with a piece of ivory cardstock, and stamped it with the Sanded background stamp in crumb cake.  Next I stamped the focal image in soft suede, and the sentiment in early espresso.  I inked up my twine ribbon with early espresso to make it more rustic looking.  Then I used my distressing tool to distress the edges.  I inked the edges with crumb cake first then added some soft suede for more dimension.  I attached the ribbon with one of the new SU buttons using twine.  I added crystal effects to the lenses of the glasses and clock face, here is a close up to see the shine.

It was fun to distress, once I start I just keep going...  So here's to a Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!

I'm back from my adventure up north, and I have a card I made for my Dad. This layout is an old Mojo sketch that I loved but didn't have time to made when it was originally posted. I started with a kraft base, and added a brown mat to the patterned paper. The pp is really old I believe it is by deja views. For the panels I stamped the canvas su background in rich cocoa. The border is an ek success border punch from Michaels. The focal image is a stamp by Victorine Originals that I had gotten on ebay, and I pierced the bottom of the square. I added a little color using a prismacolored pencil. The sentiment is a dollar acrylic set. I cut it out with 1 3/8 inch circle punch and matted it with the 1 1/2 inch circle punch.
