Mother's Day

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin' Up Spotlight On Nature, Stampin' Up Mother's Day greeting unknown
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Stampin' Up Bubble Bath
Paper: Gina K White and Stampin' Up Bubble Bath
Accessories: Stampin' Up Delightful Wishes Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Copic Markers, Honey Bee Gems

Hello Stampers!  I made this for two challenges.  The first being the CAS on Friday's theme challenge Spring, and the other Featured Stamper challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  This week we are honoring individuals in the stamping community that have passed away.  One individual in particular, Polly.  And here is the card that I CASED, the last card that she posted on SCS.  For my card I started with the focal image.  I stamped, die cut, colored the floral image, and then added some bling.  I also stamped, colored, and fussy cut out the butterfly.  Then I cut a piece of bubble bath card stock, and die cut the accent corners to frame the focal image.  Before I adhered everything I laid it out to make sure I liked it.  But it was missing something in that bottom left hand corner.  So I decided to emboss the pink layer with a swiss dots embossing folder, Nope!  That wasn't the answer to my problem.  So I started again with the bubble bath cardstock, and die cut the corners.  Then I tried some linen thread.  It looked funny to go over the die cut accent, so I went through the die cut corner!  It added just that little something.  This time I adhered it altogether, and popped up the butterfly with some dimensionals.  For the inside I did some simple stamping.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Happy Mother's Day

Supplies:
Stamps: SU Spotlight on Nature and sentiment SU unknown
Paper: Gina K White and SU Bubble Bath
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and SU Bubble Bath
Accessories: Copic markers, SU Linen Thread, SU Spotlight on Nature Dies, Waffle Flowers Nested Circle Dies, SU Dotted Circles Embossing Folder, Honey Bee White Gem Stickers, Dimensionals

Hello Stampers!  It is Featured Stamper Sunday over at Splitcoaststampers!  Here is my inspiration card:

When I saw this card I thought of the Stampin' Up embossing folder, Dotted Circles.  So I started by embossing this background on white.  Then I pulled out the Spotlight on Nature Stamps, and stamped, die cut, and colored the focal image.  I matted this circle with some bubble bath cardstock, and added some white gems.  Then I fussy cut the butterfly, colored it, and popped it up onto the focal image.  To finish the card I added some linen thread at the bottom with a bow.  For the inside I stamped the sentiment in black, and then stamped the flower and butterfly in SU bubble bath ink.  And that completes my card.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Daffodil Mother's Day

 Supplies:
Stamps: SU Daffodil Daydream
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Gina K white and SU Daffodil Delight
Accessories:  Concord&9th Quilted Card Front Die, Lawn Fawn Stitched and Scalloped Rectangle Dies, Honey Bee Clear Gem Stickers, Copic markers

Hello Stampers!  I'm here to share my card for the Featured Stamper Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  Here is the card that I CASED:

For my card I used the same stamp set and stamped and colored the daffodil.  I die cut it using a stitched rectangle die, and then used my stamp a ma jig to stamp the sentiment.  From here I matted the daffodil with a scalloped rectangle die.  It seemed like something was missing to me so I stamped, colored, and fussy cut out the butterfly, and added some clear gems.  For the background instead of using patterned paper I used the Quilted card front die, and adhered it to the daffodil delight card base.  Now that I have both Mother's Day cards done I will get the insides done soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello Stampers!  I'm here to share a card I made for the Free 4 All challenge: Mother's Day Cards over at Splitcoaststampers.  I picked up this tulip stencil yesterday at JoAnns.  Aren't the tulips pretty!!  After I stenciled the tulips, I die cut it using the My Favorite Things Blueprint 27.  Then I went on a quest to find a Mother's Day sentiment stamp.  I found one in the SU Daffodil Dream stamp set, and used my stamp a ma jig to stamp the sentiment.  I didn't finish the inside of this one yet.  When I do I will update this post.

That's all for now!  Hope to share a couple more cards over the weekend.

Hello Stampers!  It is Sunday, and it is time for the new Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  This week's Featured Stamper is Christine and this is the card that I selected from her gallery:

To make my card I started with the focal image.  I stamped, die cut, and then colored the image with Copic Markers.  Then I mat it with a black layer. Next I cut a white panel and embossed it.  I adhered the focal image to the embossed panel, and then I added the twine.  For the sentiment I heat embossed it and then die cut it using the stitched fishtail and adhered it to the card.  To finish the card I adhered all of the layers.  For the inside I stamped, die cut, and matted it with black cardstock.  Lastly, I stamped and colored the single tulip.  That's what is great about Gina K's heavy base weight white cardstock.  You can color with Copics and it doesn't bleed through to the back side.

That's all for now!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamp TV flower challenge

Supplies: Stamps: Gina K flowers, Amuse sentiment  Paper: Gina K white  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Accessories: Spellbinders die cuts to make the frame, swiss dots embossing folder, purple ribbon, copic markers

I used to participate in challenges on Stamp TV, and then I took a break from stamping.  Today I got an email from Stamp TV about a weekly challenge and thought I would give it a try.  The challenge is to use your favorite Gina K flower stamp on a card as we are welcoming spring.  I thought of this iris stamp, because I have so many perennials coming up including my dark purple irises.  I used my copic markers to color in the irises.  I made an embossed frame to define the flowers as my focal image.  I added some purple ribbon, (it isn't that dark in real life.)  Lastly I added a sentiment to complete the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Sketch, A Challenge, A Mother's Day Card

Supplies: Stamps: Well Scripted Paper: crumb cake, chocolate chip, white, pear pizzazz, riding hood red, daffodil delight, pink pirouette Ink: soft suede Accessories: little leaves die cut, floral fusion die cut, itty bitty shapes punch pack, dotted scallop ribbon border punch, rhinestones, twine, buttons latte

I've been working on this card a few days. I had everything punched out and was having fun moving around the die cuts until I found the arrangement that I liked. I used the sketch from the Clean and Simple Blog, FTL137, for this card. I also combined the "Rules of Three" CAS challenge on SCS. I used the three flowers, and before I added the itty bitty flower in the center of the flowers there were three layers to each flower. But I couldn't resist adding the fourth! Thanks for stopping by!

Winter Design Team Challenge Round 2

Oh did I struggle with this card! I had no idea what I wanted to do colors, accents, stamps, nothin'. So last night I found this fantastic pewter satin ribbon, and thought I would start there. The challenge was to use a relative name/word on the card. I went through my binder where I have all of my stamped images and die cuts to find a stamp that would work. I had picked up the "For my Mother" stamp this fall, it is by Endless Creations. So now I knew I was making a card for my Mom using pewter ribbon.... Next, I found some ink that matched the ribbon it is by TLC and it is called graphite. Now for a focal image.... I had my top note die cut on my desk still so I decided to use that, and I have had the Bloomin' Beautiful stamp set that my sister picked up at a rummage for me that I still hadn't inked up. The wheels finally started turning! I decided not to color the image so I simply stamped the sentiment and image on the top note die and trimmed off the side edge. Then I thought a little bit of soft color might be nice so I used very light copic markers to add little touches of color, their so light it's hard to see them in the pictures. For the card base I tried to chose a color the of a hydrangea since I didn't color my image in, and added a little texture by running it through the cuttlebug with the Victoria embossing folder. Next I added my ribbon using a stay put bow, and polished it off with Martha's flourish border punch to compliment the top note die cut at the bottom.

That's all for now, off to clean up my mess! I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! Don't eat too much turkey!

Mother's Day Part 2

This is the other card I made for Mother's Day, for my Mom. I know, I know, the cabbage flower again?! I just love it!! This time I used peachy colors for the theme, because it went with the calendar that I made for her. Details include: pattern paper Martha Stewart, border punch: new ek success border punch, su oval punches, martha stewart tag punch, hero arts happy mom's day, and ribbon by offray. I used the sketch challenge from Splitcoast Stampers for the layout of this card.

And....here is the calendar that I made for my Mom! I got the idea from the blog Creative Stampin Spot.

That's all for now and probably until the weekend. This is my last week of school!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) So I just am trying to make it through the week! Then I will be doing a lot more posting while I am enjoying my summer vacation!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Part 1

This is one of the cards that I made for Mother's Day. She doesn't check this blog so I think it is safe to post it. I'll be able to post a couple more things tomorrow...as my Mom should be receiving her gift soon. I used the same cabbage flower stamp by Savvy. I really had a lot of fun coloring this image so many different ways. It was great practice as I get used to using my Copic markers...I think I have finally gotten the hang of it. The layout of this card is a case from SparkleGirl over at Splitcoast Stampers. I absolutely love her style!! Thanks for the inspiration! More details: I used Gina K white for the base, cardstock scraps, SU scallop border punch, rectangle nestabilities, and the ribbon is by May Arts. Well that's all for now! Check back soon as I post part 2 of my Mother's Day post.
