Hello Stampers! I found a couple new CAS challenges to participate in. The first one is called CAS on Friday. The challenge on there website is: Use Your Favorite Flower. This stamp is on oldie but goodie. I love that you can use it with different techniques. Gina K had a live Stamp and Chat on blending a background and then stamping an image on top of it, and that is where I got the inspiration for this card. The second CAS challenge is Addicted to CAS. The challenge on their website is: Silhouette. And the third CAS challenge is Perfectly CAS, and their challenge is masking.
This was kinda tricky to figure out how to get the blending in the middle of my embossed frame, without getting any ink on the stitched part of the frame. So this is what I ended up doing after a couple of glitches along the way. I cut a piece of masking paper the size of a card front. Then I placed the die cut in the center of the masking paper and traced the inside of the die cut with a pencil. Then I cut out the inner rectangle keeping the rectangle in tact. I placed the rectangle on the center of my card front to make sure it was centered. Then I took the other piece of masking paper and framed it around the rectangle already in place, and removed the center rectangle. Then I blended the background of the flowers. I removed the masking paper, and stamped my flowers using a stamp a ma jig. Now it was time to emboss the blended background. I carefully lined up the die cut so there was even spacing around the blended background and taped it in place with purple tape. I held my breath and hoped for the best!! LOL! Then I stamped my sentiment and added a butterfly with a gem to complete the card. I'm happy with how it turned out. That's all for now!
